Previously the vessel was operated under the names Juan March ferry 1966-1985 by Trasmediterránea Sol Christina ferry 1985-1986 by Sol Mediterranean Kypros Star ferry 1986-1987 by Opale Lines Ocean Majesty since 1988 by Majestic International Cruises. The ship was raised and returned to service in May 1966. The most recent death was in 1966 when an 18 year old crew member was crushed to death during a routine watertight door drill.
