5th Element Cruise Ship

The action turns to the Fhlotsin Paradise a 2000 foot long luxury cruise ship that sails above an all-water planet.

The ship was constructed as a six foot motion control model and was composited into the frame along with completely digital water courtesy of Arete software. At the time of its release The Fifth Element was the highest-budget film made outside of Hollywood.

She meets a cab driver. The ship has 12 swimming pools a sun deck a large opera house with glazing behind the stage luxurious suites and its own bomb detection device. The Fifth Elements far-reaching vision of the future demanded a virtual sampler of visual effects and Besson chose Digital.

Extreme long shots were used to show the scale of some of the buildings and planets and long shots showing the size of rooms or areas that the characters were in such as the cruise ship gallery. Unfortunately the water seems a bit too synthetic in one shot. They go on a mission to a cruise ship to get the rocks from a singing squid-woman.
