Aft Cabins Cruise Ship

So far we have had aft cabins on the Ruby Princess and the Star Princess.

In the past prior to modern day cruise ship design and stabilising technology it was the case that the mid-ship area was always the best bet for cabin position. As a general rule the best cabins on cruise ships regardless of the cabin type are the ones located on the lower decks.

Cruise ship cabins located on decks in midships rock the least when the ocean is rough. The white noise from the ships wake is pretty neat. Instead of the cookie-cutter design of most balcony rooms these cabins are often elongated or oddly shaped with extra-long balconies.

This is true whether your balcony looks aft or faces to the side at the back end of the ship. You still need to be aware of what is around your stateroom though. Aft cabins can feel more movement from the ships thrusters.
