Aft Rooms On Cruise Ships
Sky Princess offers the following aft-facing rooms.
Aft rooms on cruise ships. Think bars lounges. Once we skirted the outside of a hurricane. After that I would say aft is better than forward but that is my personal opinion.
However make sure to check what is beside your aft stateroom as there often are exhaust vents in the aft. One nice aspect of our cabin is being located in the corner of the ship meaning a lot less traffic by our door. Ultimately where your room is located on the ship midship versus forward or aft is an arguably more important consideration than the side of the ship.
Since they are located along the ships stern cruise lingo there are only a few of these cabins on each deck and they do book up quickly. As with most ships the higher decks only have balcony cabins midship. Aft cabins are those at the very back of the ship with balconies that have stunning views over the ships wake.
When docked the crew can tie up a ship on either side. Balcony rooms and suites all tend to be located on the higher decks. If for some reason you cannot book a room midship opt for a room on the aft.
Now modern cruise ships use stabilizers which reduce the amount of motion passengers feel but in rougher seas its unavoidable. Think bars lounges. Likewise you cant get a balcony room too low on the ship.
Aft rooms located at one of the ships corners might have a balcony that wraps along the back and the side for double the viewing pleasure. Youll find stateroom options to choose from on both sides of the ship as well as in between with each section offering its own distinct benefits. Weve had this stateroom 3 times.
